Are you guys sick of my pumpkin spice obsession yet?
Did you say yes?
Well...I hate to break it to you, but I'm not done yet.
This ain't over till the fat pumpkin....rolls?
Stick with me for one more round of Pumpkin skincare, please?
Pretty Please.
With a stem on top!?

Okay, now that the pumpkin puns are out of the way....we can get back to the pumpkin skincare goodness.

A few weeks ago I shared my favorite pumpkin skincare items that I had hunted down, tested out and reviewed for you (HERE).

This time I am sharing my favorite DIY homemade pumpkin mask recipes!
So, get out your mixing bowls because you don't even have to run to the store or shop online for these goodies....They're right in your pantry.

Organic Pumpkin Mask
1/4 Cup Organic Pumpkin Puree*  (Good for brightening and replenishing)
1/2 of one Raw Beaten Egg (Good for tightening and firming)

Customizable Additions:
1 TBSP Raw Honey for Dry Skin (healing and hydrating)
1 TBSP Apple Cider Vinegar for Oily Skin (exfoliating)
1/4 Cup Old Fashioned Oats (Calming)
You can add water (1 tbsp at a time) if you want to thin out the consistency. Or you can use a blender to make this mask smooth and easier to apply.

Directions: Mix together the pumpkin and egg and then add your customized ingredients.
For a cooling, refreshing effect, refrigerate the mask for up to 6 hours before you apply.
Apply the mask to your face with a soft brush or your fingers (avoiding the eye area). Leave on your skin until dry, or about 10-20 minutes. Rinse with warm water and follow with your favorite moisturizer.

If you add in the calming oats, try using a blender (immersion or regular style blender) to take the "lumpiness" out of the mask mixture. Blending it together will give it a smooth consistency and will make it easier to apply and remove.

*Please make sure you're using actual pumpkin puree and NOT pumpkin pie filling. You would be surprised how often this happens! I mean...I'm sure you could just stick the mask leftovers in the oven and make a pie if this happens to you....But please don't.
If you can't run to the store, or are afraid of picking up the wrong kind of pumpkin...Get it on Amazon (don't they literally have EVERYTHING!?) - HERE
Also, if applying a face mask with your hands weirds you out, try these super soft silicone face mask brushes - HERE

With so many vitamins and minerals in pumpkin, it's not just good for your face, it's great for your whole body! Let's scrub the day away...Pumpkin Spice Style!

Brightening Pumpkin Brown Sugar Scrub
1 TBSP Organic Pumpkin Puree
1 Cup Brown Sugar
1 TSP Cinnamon or Pumpkin Pie Spice
*1 TBSP Oil  (Olive, Almond, or Coconut) *Optional

Directions: Mix dry ingredients together and then add the pumpkin and oil (if desired) until you have reached the consistency of your choosing. If the mixture is too dry for your liking, add more oil. If it is too oily, add more sugar. Do additions in 1/2 tablespoon increments. Just be aware that the pumpkin and oil will start to break down the sugar so I would go easy on any oil additions (I advise letting your sugar mixture sit at room temperature for half an hour before adding any additional oil). I used regular olive oil for this batch and it is very moisturizing and softens the skin beautifully.
When you're ready to use your scrub, hop in the shower or bath and scrub away BEFORE you turn on the water. Once you are sufficiently scrubbed and dubbed, rinse off in warm water (or 1,000+ degree water like me). Be careful to not slip because the residual oil will be slick!
If you have leftovers, they can be stored for up to 3 days as long as NO water gets in them but again, be aware that the pumpkin and oil will begin to break down the sugar and it will be less  “scrubby”.
I love storing my homemade scrubs in these airtight rubber sealed glass jars (HERE). They also make BEAUTIFUL containers to gift your homemade Pumpkin Spice Sugar Scrub! If you plan on giving this scrub away as a gift, I would omit the oil all together and add a cute tag with instructions to add an oil of their choosing.

There you have it!
Although the Pumpkin Spice products I reviewed last time are amazing, it's nice to know that you don't have to run out to the store ASAP to grab one. You can still get the benefits of all those vitamins and minerals right from your own pantry.
P.S. - I have a WONDERFUL Pumpkin Chili Recipe! Let me know if you would like me to share!
