Easy Halloween Makeup - Spider Queen

Welcome back everyone to Easy Halloween Makeup DAY 3!!

I'm going to confess....I don't really like scary stuff.
Okay that was a lie...I actually HATE scary stuff.
When I watched The Ring...I literally couldn't sleep for a week. And also I have irrational fears of looking under my bed covers now.
When we use to go to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios, I would hide my entire face in a friend's arm (or maybe even arm pit) just to not see anything (Sorry Ang and Laura)!
Why even go you ask? Well...all the cool kids were doing it...(Not really but I didn't want to miss out on an outing to Universal).
I slept with a nightlight on until I was like...15....so....yeah. I'm a super big wuss when it comes to spooky stuff.

So today's look is pretty much as spooky as I will get.

Spider Queen
Yeah, it's not that scary...but I tried, okay!?
But, if  you're my brother in law, you might think this was the scariest of them all (he HATES spiders and I don't blame him).

This look was actually inspired by my sweet little nephew. He wants to be a spider for Halloween this year (and he's going to be the cutest spider EVER). I enjoyed trying this spidery look out for him and it is SO much easier to do than it might look.
First off, this look is TOTALLY and completely customizable.
You can only draw spiders if you want, or you could just have the webs.
Eye makeup or no eye makeup.
Whatever you want!

For my look, I added bright purple and orange eye shadow and a little glitter eyeliner to make this look extra punchy (but again, you can do anything you want for the eyes).
I made an extra long and sharp wing for my eyeliner and carried out the start of my spider's web from there. It made it easier for me to make them even on both sides of my face that way.
If you think you can't draw these on yourself, think again (I can't even draw a stick figure remember)!

All you have to do is draw out your web lines from a starting point (my starting point was my eyeliner wing). Then connect the long web lines with a "c" shape. I decided to add a dusting of my purple and orange eye shadow and glitter liner in between the web strands for fun.
If you would like to add some creepy crawly spiders, draw two circles (one small dot for the head and one larger dot for the body) and then eight tiny crooked legs. Liquid liner worked best for the spiders so the legs would be small and sharp.

I used a black gel eyeliner to draw on the webs so they could be super dark black and also be easily smudged. Gel liner glides on so much easier than liquid (it can be patchy or skip at times). But again, personal preference. You could also pick up some spider/spider web temporary tattoos for an easy option as well.
For my lips I went dark and vampy with a deep burgundy lipstick and lined the bottom of my lips with a black liquid liner to make them even more edgy. You could also use black lipstick (if you happen to have one...but surprisingly I didn't).
For my face and neck I used a dark purple eye shadow to give a muddy, over-exaggerated contour effect. It also went along with the purple on my eyes, so I thought...why the heck not.
You could go FULL spooky factor and use black eye shadow to contour and make it really shaded and edgy, or you could keep it natural and let the spiders do the talking.
(Whoa what a scary thought...Talking spiders!)
I can't say this enough, there's SO many possibilities with this. Personalize it and make it your own!
For my Spider Queen "crown" I picked that glittery spider up at Target (for like $3)! The legs were pipe cleaners so it was easy to get it to form to my head and stay put in my hair. So definitely check out your local dollar spots for cheap hair options (and make sure you check out my accessory options below if you like to shop online).

The products I used to create this look were all awesome drugstore brands! You can find these at Target, Ulta, and most drugstores. But if you don't want to head to the store, I linked them all to Amazon for speedy delivery in time for Halloween. P.S. - it's under $40 for all of them!
